Kim Ann Foxman: Energy EP.
Wednesday 25 Jan
American DJ Kim Ann Foxman has a delivered uncompromising quality over the years. The Hawaiian born DJ rose to lofty heights as the vocalist for New York’s disco lords Hercules and Love Affair and has since settled down on conquering the cities clubbing scene becoming resident in one of Brooklyn’s finest institutions, The Good Rooms.
With a distinctive flavour in records tracks, Kim pushed her talents forward with the launch of her own label Firehouse Recordings two years ago, in partnership with The Vinyl Factory. Foxman believes the label represents New York’s flavour and talent in abundance, inspired by her love for the cities house and Latino flavoured freestyle beats.
Kicking off 2017 with a bang, set fire to Firehouse Recordings with the charismatic release of her ‘Energy EP’ – four new tracks weighted in Foxman’s vocals, with a mix of her own gifted vocals with a throwback to the nostalgic sounds of the early house and techno scene; symbolic with the ‘U & Me Electricity’ track featuring Foxman’s vocals. Energy and life is increased with ‘E4 Energy’ before ‘UR Magnetic’ sets the tone with some devilishly good hooked vocals. ‘2 The Source’ finishes with a mind-bending twist.
1. A1. UR Magnetic
2. A2. E4 Energy
3. B1. U & Me Electricity
4. B2. 2 The Source
