The Hydra: That's How It Is!

The Hydra teams up with WorldwideFM founder Gilles Peterson and James Lavelle to bring back their legendary club night ‘That’s How It Is!’

Kickstarting in 1993, ‘That’s How It Is!’ was a legendary club night for music aficionados who wanted to listen to the latest findings from original tastemakers Gilles Peterson and James Lavelle.

Taking place weekly on Mondays, the party went strong for over a decade and it was a meeting point for different generations of ravers. Following the tradition, The Hydra ‘That’s How It Is!’ happens on Easter Monday [bank holiday].

With a genre-bending music policy, guests can expect a melting pot of forward-thinking sounds from the likes of Unkle – Rōnin [live], special guest Bonobo, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Carl Craig, Nightmares on Wax, Roni Size b2b Krust, Anish Kumar, Jay Carder, Donna Leake and many more.

The Hydra Series:

Celebrate some of the nights and spaces, past and present, whose breaking of new ground influenced Printworks, The Hydra and club culture in general.

Five gigs across the Easter Bank Holiday (Thursday to Monday inclusive). The names are self-explanatory for those who know, and for those who don’t they represent what we feel will be an unmissable nod to London’s music culture.
