The BBC Proms, known for their celebrated history and promotion of orchestra, came to Printworks London in September last year. The unique and exciting event invited international artists of all forms to come together.

Countertenor Anthony Roth Constanzo designed the performance to reflect the original meaning of the ‘prom’, graciously leading a procession of the audience ‘promenading’ the length of the 3,328 square metre Press Halls during the programme. He took a multidisciplinary approach to the show in which he paired masterpieces by Handel with new works by Philip Glass. Centre stage were the English National Opera with choreographed dancers and a live action painting created right before guests eyes. All while on the balcony level well known beatboxer Jason Singh performed.

Projected on the industrial walls of the Press Halls were films which perfectly complimented the live artistry happening in the space. Costanza and collaborators held nothing back in reimagining the opera masterpieces for Printworks London.
