Over two days in January, Printworks was transformed for the Turf Games Winter Festival 2022. The team-based functional fitness competition brought together more than 1,000 athletes and supporters on each day to celebrate the power of community in health and fitness.

The organisers were looking for an industrial backdrop in a cool, accessible and urban environment, which would allow for multiple areas without seeming overcrowded. At Printworks, we set up the festival over three spaces, creating zones for warm-ups, an athlete’s village and sponsorship. The competition was held in HSBC, with its iconic coloured industrial ceiling reflecting the dynamic displays of determination, strength and fitness. We worked with the Games to create a striking environment that reflected their needs as well as their open and accessible approach. With three categories of teams, from the most practised ‘elite’ squads to more ‘everyday’ heroes, the event was a powerful symbol of inclusive and fear-free fitness.
